John Stones transfer saga

Laughing at people saying anything under £35m is good business for Stones.

Also think we should be reporting Chelsea for this blatant tapping up.
Not sure I find it quite so funny, He is worth what the buyer is prepared to pay and more importantly the ammount the selling club will except. Do you really think Everton will turn down £34,000,000 ?? for a £3,000,000 outlay ?? I dunno.... Be nice to think we would but It depends what war chest we have already.

Doug Rooney was a better player when he left us than he is now!

Yeah he's just tore up the Euros like no other kid had ever done at the age of 18, taking on the best European international players like it was a kick about in the park but Ashtonian didn't rate him clearly.

Says more about Ashtonian I guess though than Rooney that.

Rooney wasn't the finished article but he was just off the back of a successful European championships, scored a Champions League hat-trick on his debut and has never been out of the United or England team since then.
yes, because they bought the player they have now but 10 years ago. Thats what i mean mate, Stones probably be world class one day, but that price tag will be a lot more than if they bought him now.

The whole PR destabiliisation process has begun with the DMail being it's chief cheerleader...... Just tell them to sod off Bill.........

It's disgusting isn't it mate that a player is actively trying to get the player to move via the media. I hope it gets to the point where we just reject any bid no matter how ridiculously high the offer is and Stones isn't arsed.

Chelsea ffs, calling us a small club. I just ain't having that whatsoever from a no mark like Cahill.

go on, where did i say i didnt rate him? i said united bought the potential, you know the potential of captian, record breaking goal tally, winning everything etc

That isnt saying i didnt rate him, but he was nowhere near world class at the age of 18

GOMIS STAYING PUT

Swansea are to resist any attempts by Al Ahli to lure French striker Bafetimbi Gomis, 29, to Dubai this summer.

"He (Gomis) is here to stay," said Swans boss Garry Monk

Well Garry Monk knocked that on the head, should we be doing that?

Also another point and off topic, surely Kone would love a little move out to Dubai

All this thread will be null and void if Stones does actually hand in a transfer request. Nice guy that he seems to be, money talks and heads will be turned. Take for example: "insert any transfer ever".

Even the beloved Stevie GBH was minutes away from a move to Romans Oil empire.

Eventually all this media propaganda does get inside the head of the player. As much as I want us to keep him, I won't be surprised if he does see the bright lights and ask for a move. Doesn't seem to matter that a whole plethora of talent before him moved for similar reasons and ended up warming benches at the Etihad or Stamford Bridge...

Can't blame him like. Chelsea are in a period where they'll dominate and if he goes, I hope he becomes the world beater we all think he will. That said, the inherent issue with the PL is the ability for a club to bemoan, belittle and bully without any recourse. Only need to look back when McCarthy was choked at Stamford Bridge to see how atmosphere around the league is to protect the biggest draws. No retrospective punishment for Chelsea or Ivanovic and if Stones goes, there won't be any sort of bad publicity from their pursuit.

The cretin should shut his fat gob and butt out. What a mouth.
Mourinho reckons that Zouma is worth 26m? So why bid 20m for the best young english defender. Just a typical plan to turn the players head just as man city did with Lescott. The blokes a total joke. Atleast we won our trophys chelsea, not bought them!

- He is worth what we're prepared to sell him for, not what they're prepared to pay for him.

- Yes.

pique, kolcieny (ask any arsenal fan), Ramos, Pepe, Boetang, Kompany, Terry, Jagielka all to name a few

Well obviously you've missed that Terry already plays for Chelsea and apart from Jags and Koscielny none of them would be cheaper than the £30m we are being offered, which you said we could get better defenders for cheaper than the money it would cost to but Stones.

So go on if there's so many defenders better than Stones that would cost less than him and don't already play for Chelsea name them..
