John Stones transfer saga

People shouting for the board to go, really need to grab a hold of themselves. They have turned down 23, 26 and 30 million for a player who is only potential. He isn't our best player, and he isn't going to rock the team by leaving. He makes mistakes and we haven't exactly been keeping millions of clean sheets with him in the squad.

Yes we are not rich, but the board have rejected three offers.

We should now reject them and act like Liverpool? Pretend that a player is one of our own, even if he wants to leave for Chelsea? I don't want a player staying around for a year, having to cheer for him - when he's leaving for Chelsea in the Summer of 2016!!!

Massive profit gained, Stones is happy, Everton can buy three players - no problem.

The fact people will now moan that the board are about to sell a player unhappy at the club, is beyond a joke. They can't do anything right. How about we just let Bill sell up, and end up like Pompey in League 2 and going through the door to oblivion?
2 things

1. Why is it anyone like you always uses the worst case when talking about the sale of Everton football club? Why do we have to be a Portsmouth or Blackburn?

2. The fact we have only spent 4.25 million pound on improving our squad, may also not only annoy Evertonians but could also say to the players, that we are going nowhere.

35m is your minimum. Are you insane.

Now he has handed in the request and is under contract for years with Everton, we hold all the cards here and can carry on rejecting whatever we please until we are satisfied with the compensation. I said 4 weeks ago i suspect he would go for 35m but having thought more about it, we as a club must not buckle at the knee's and fall onto Chelsea's waiting boner.

For me its got to be between 45 and 50 million. If you want him, show us the money.

I think thats too high for someone who has not even had one full season in the EPL and not played a single CL game. Objectively it should be somewhere between 34 and 36M

we are a completely rudderless ship aint we ?

the lack of ambition showed in getting transfers in has hardly shouted 'stay here we are going places' to our talent.
now with protest groups getting more vocal and stones saying he wants to leave + the tidal wave of fans anger over this whole transfer window is hardly going to entice players to come here either.

Chelsea wins , stones wins , the everton board wins and the history of everton and its fans get shafted.

he is under contract , the board have to decline his request. if they accept it , then they show their true colours.
a bubbling cauldron of hate is primed for kenwright earl elstone Martinez Chelsea mourinho john stones and his agent.
this is a dangerous moment for everton and the people running it imo.
I predict a riot
Next home game is going to be a cauldron of hate for everyone.

So basically you shouldn't cheer in any given season for Lukaku, Barkley, Ledson, Stones, Deulofeu etc. because the likelihood is if they have a good season they'll be gone in the summer anyway. Because as we will clearly demonstrate if we sell Stones, we're a selling club by definition.

So by your logic. you may as well boo anyone who plays well.

How many times does it have to happen before a pattern is identified though?

Rooney, not for sale. Transfer request late. Sold. Money gradually invested to net spend.

Do the above process, replace the name with Fellaini, Lescott, Rodwell. In the case of Arteta, it wasn't even re-invested, it was banked and confirmed as such by Moyes.

We pull the same trick over and over again, and it's because we're ran as a club who simply will not invest properly in the playing staff and rely on big sales to appease the books.

And that's fine if we were open about that. But we're lied to again and again as being a "big club", a club that is not a "selling club" - but the men in charge clearly view it differently.

I mean read the below and tell me how Martinez - a man who came here and said off the bat he wanted to build us into a Champions League team - hasn't been sold up the river here by Everton being Everton.

I agree with you 100%, all the signs are there. I mean the interest has been there since July, why didn't he put in his request when the bid was made? What did he gain by waiting the extra month? Nothing, if he wants to go now he probably wanted to go when the first bid was made. This whole thing stinks of the pattern you've clearly outlined. I was hesitant to believe @davek maintaining we would have to sell to buy but it is looking more convincing now.
