The Jags-Distin partnership has been a bedrock for us for a long time and right through preseason. I can't see him dislodging Coleman if we play 4 at the back either. He's looked very comfortable when we've used wing backs though and might get some chances there.
more likely to play on the right of a 3 if we play 3 at the back. also must be ahead of hibbo now as colemans back up.
In place of Gibson if he does not make the Norwich match...I would really like to see that...
Would be delighted to see him used at centrehalf this season.
Ship out Johnny the phoney before he runs down his contract and allow Stones to step up with Alcaraz as security.
Superb performance for England u21s tonight at right back. Seamus better keep on his toes...
And Pennington is just as good. After years of just having Hibbo, it looks like we are now blessed with a surplus.
....I remember Mark Lawrenson saying Moyes had identified 3 right backs in the lower leagues that he thought were premiership standard. The fact he went for Stones has always made me think he could be something special and the more I see him the more convinced I become. If right back is his position I suspect that it wont be long before Coleman has to make way (and I appreciate how decent Seamus is).
