Honestly mate you're doing quite a bit of work over each half term. The summer maybe only one week from the five as you need it to get ready to go again but the others you have a lot to do. Next half term I will probably only have two days off to relax.

2 days more than me, unless I use my allocated holidays.

Exactly mate when most people have a holiday they won't be doing work will they? Also them weekends the majority of people have, teachers will be working for one of those days sorting stuff for the following week. I am not trying to say teachers don't have time to relax because we do but people seem to have this perception that we just put our feet up every single half term and do nothing, it's simply not true.

You're not going to convince me mate.

I will continue to take my children out of school, due to not being able to get time off during Easter/Summer.

I could die tomorrow and if I do I'll know I've taken my daughter on 4 great holidays. Soon to be 5.

I couldn't give a toss about anything outside of that.

Just to add reason to that, the alternative is that we just don't do holidays during my children's younger years.

Most people will have between 4-6 weeks paid leave a year not 13-14. Of course that isn't including people on zero hour contracts, or agency staff etc.

It's not 13-14 weeks though. We don't have our feet up like you seem to think. Do you work on your weekends or days off each week? Do you have to work most nights when you come home? That's what teachers have to do.
