2018/19 Jonjoe Kenny

I'd keep him in and see if he can make something of his chance in the next few weeks. Coleman has been poor lately so Kenny coming around would be huge for us.

He is a better bet than Seamus at present but that right side looks very average I would look to offload Walcott someone will buy him for near what we paid. Coleman no one will buy seeing his current struggle after a career threatening injury. Jonjoe is a bit like Darrracot was, he loves the club and is lively but that is not what we need to advance.

Another one who finally got a chance and absolutely did not take it. We can’t afford to be sentimental or blinded by the fact he’s come through the academy.

When we conceded, he was the only one with his arms in the air trying to get us going again. He sort of half did it, realized no one else was, then stopped.

He shouldn't have stopped. He had the right attitude. Just not sure if he quite has the ability too, took his chance first half but faded badly second half.

2 great tackles and effort that hit the bar but he is not the answer now nor in the future.
His is one of 11 places that needs sorting

Better than what Coleman has been giving us.

Hit the woodwork
Made quite a few good tackles.
Gave 100% - which can't be said for some of them.

Had a decent game, especially considering how little he has featured in recent months. What more were you expecting from him?

I expect four things from a RB at a minimum (beyond defensive positioning): win your one on ones; execute simple passes; make intelligent overlapping runs; put in consistently dangerous crosses. He does the first well, and fails at the rest by some distance.

Passing accuracy in the first half: 36%. Lowest of all outfield players. It’s just embarrassingly bad, that. Most of his passes are 5 yards to Walcott or Keane. The simple passes to Walcott that went directly out of play. The toe-ended cross at the end that went straight into the stand.

Take the point on Coleman needing time out. And not saying he was the worst on show or the reason we lost. But why are we cutting him *excess* slack just because he is a graduate? We need to have standards and not be sentimental. He was 5/10 at best. (If Martina puts in that performance, are we as generous?!)

We need to balance promoting youth with realities of the PL, and I think those saying he’s done well have got that balance completely wrong.

Not bad but not that good either. I think if I wouldn't have seen the starting XI I wouldn't have known if it was Coleman or Kenny on the pitch today.
