For me he is in his correct status which is back up RB the problem is Coleman isn't good enough to be first choice any more so its a toss of coin who you keep but a first choice RB must be a priority along with a left footed CB. We seem to have sorted the attack and midfield out it will be a shame if a dodgy defence undermines it all.

I’m very on the fence with him. I’d like to see him with James in front as he does make loads of good runs forward, but Walcott and Iwobi both repeatedly refused to find him and instead opted for the safe pass backwards.

defensicely sound though. I think if he can cross a ball RB is less of a priority than RW or CB currently.

We are trying to win games and it is this that pees me off. Wish we could get shut of the pair of them.

Surprised that a lot of people see him as defensively sound. I think he's a good all round footballer personally, but I'd be much more bothered about the defensive side of his game than the attacking part. Defensively he makes terrible decisions and lacks the pace or physicality to mask them. He's a good defender in the basic sense of putting his body on the line and being dogged, but he has a tendency to be caught out of position and to dive in unnecessarily and take himself out of the game. He's adequate back up, but I wouldn't really want him getting a run of games.

Had to feel for him with Iwobi playing on the right. Made loads of good runs that Iwobi either didn't see, couldn't pass to him, or didn't utilise the extra space created. I think Jonjoe would really compliment Rodriguez, would like to see them play together.
Agreed, he’s not going to get the ball, skin an opponent with flair or a burst of pace but he can still be effective with the right partner on his flank. He’s constantly looking for the give and go and his movement off the ball was good, just that he wasn’t used. Could be useful with Rodriguez, that movement will either drag players away/give James a split second to do his thing or James will play him in when he overlaps or goes for the one two. Could go either way at the moment, hope it works out for him, desire not in question.
