I back Koeman on his treatment of basically all the kids, but I don't understand this one at all. Holgate is not a full back, and completely out of his depth. Martina is bizarre.

People seem to see me as a centre-back but I wouldn’t say that I was a definite centre-back. I don’t feel like I’m a centre-back playing at right-back – I can play both positions.

That's why he's said he's developing his attacking game and feels more confident now

I'd prefer Martina or Davies at RB and neither of them are particularly comfortable in that position. Holgates best position is right jn a back 3. But RB in a 4 he is out of his depth. His distribution isn't good enough.

Seriously, if you look at the West Ham U23 highlights you will see him getting skinned a couple of times and, equally, having a good shot against the post and a decent header. I like the lad, probably currently more than the 'Van Gogh of the EFC academy', but he still has stuff to learn and prove. And a game against a decent PL forward in an U23 line-up did him no damage at all.
