I'm not sure if he will be good enough long term, but he gets better each week. A real shame he didn't get to start the season, as he could have really cemented his place, and built confidence in a better side. All the games thrown away by mistakes by Martina may have been cut out as well.

He came over and got a great reception, the rest tried but the majority of the stand were quite rightly screaming obscenities and gesturing to the tunnel, so they came half way and awkwardly trudged off.

This - he also kept putting his hand up apologetically - as you said the rest didn’t even get half as far before being told to duck off

not convinced he has the quality but... the only one to come over apprently

He's great. Stick with him. When jags went over to right back he couldn't stop the crosses coming in for two of their goals.

Think that's a bit far. No doubt he's trying his best and he's been solid at times but I've seen very little to suggest he's ready for this.

the young kids jonjoe , Davies, DLC and Pickford, haven't got one player to guide them through a game,. it's them that have been showing desire and passion for the shirt, while all around them we have players passed it or hiding like cowards,
Can't think of a worse time for young players to be coming through than among this shower .

I tend to agree mate, the modern fullback position requires a speialised skill set these days, not sure the lad is what we need for all his endevour.

I’d like to see him in a team playing with confidence though.

He's doing a job because there's no other choice.

But the fact he has to have Lennon covering every game and he gets caught too far down the pitch at the wrong times...just adds to the teams problems.

Far too early in his career to pass judgement, but I’m hoping that this might end up being decent character building for him and other young lads if it doesn’t destroy them.

Ten times the left back baines is these days.........and the kids not even a left back.
Been saying all season Baines is finished and getting targeted , he comes in to narrow leaving the wide players free to run and can't get back, should have been replaced last year along with jags and Williams who shouldn't be anything but squad fillers at best.
