its a quiet week in football due to "winter break" otherwise this would have no traction at all.

It's a non-story, hyped for media interest. Goalie makes a mistake and feels persecuted by everyone who would have saved it, or their granny would, or their granny's ashes would - honestly why anyone listens to these has-been punters is beyond me, let alone gives any credence to what they say.

According to Opta stats, Pickford has made 2 errors leading to goals this season. Whilst not ideal, surely too few to hang him for?

he was daft to openly criticise the media clowns. They will have a field day and he will be the target for weeks to come. Criticism on here counts for nothing because it is only between ourselves, but media criticism sticks and for goalkeepers very hard to shake off. As has been said before he is immature as a person. Whether he will mature with age and stay near the top remains to be seen. All keepers drop clangers but generally don't throw mud back at the critics. He is a fool.

I hope he proves all you guys and the critics right. 75% of you on here would rather see him fail and buy someone else rather than him improve and became a quality keeper for us. He has a big personality and most people don't like that, kinda same reason why people don't like grealish.
As for the Barkley comparisons shouldn't the coaches take abit of stuck seeing as they ain't the getting the best out of there players?

They can only get the best if it's there and the player is willing to learn Barkley seems to have a problem with speed of thought and awareness of team members positions which on the face of it appears a step too far.Pickfords attitude seems his real issue,he's not having the best of seasons,but rather than zipping it and working on his game he's decided to play the victim.

Out of interest has anyone on here compared Pickfords Derby howler last season to Nigel Martyn’s in 04/05? Do fans genuinely take a dislike to JP because he is a bit cocky?

IMO I think he’s got worse since his first season here. His distribution was particularly well regarded, now it’s just pants.
