stymied any hope of us building from the back with poor distribution

Was that his fault? Half the team are incapable of putting their foot on the ball under pressure. We're not equipped to play out from the back against a team like Liverpool and make no mistakes.

That he can't pass? Yes I think it probably is his fault

So if we had Allison in goal do you think Michael Keane is turning into Beckabauer? Pickford's distribution isn't great but we have a few too many players who aren't comfortable with the ball at their feet when under pressure. Keeper's distribution could be perfect but if the player he's passing to can't pass then it's a pointless endeavour.

People still never stop moaning do they about Pickford, even when hes done nothing wrong, always looking for something to moan about lol
though i hated all that little pass to defender etc at the back so early while oppo were so close -we took chances there, get that wrong and we conceed
Moan about proper errors not one's that you make out are, just to get your hate of him over

Sorry are we saying that if the player you were going to give it to might mess it up anyway then you might as well cut out the middle man and just mess it up yourself? It's an interesting concept, i'll give you that.

No I'm saying we're nowhere near good enough to play out from the back against a team like Liverpool so 1) we shouldn't do it and 2) fans shouldn't put all the blame on a single player for play breaking down when multiple players were at fault.

I don't think they are though are they? Maybe the title of the thread offers a clue as to why they're talking about a particular player in here though?

Wow thanks. The initial post I replied to suggested he stymied any hope we had playing out from the back. Given most of the time he touched it to Holgate in the six yard box I didn't think he was solely to blame. He's not blameless, but even if this is a thread dedicated to a single player, the GOT mods aren't going to frogmarch anyone out of the forum for suggesting it's a defence-wide, or team-wide, issue.

I'm literally inviting fans to dig out Keane, Coleman and Davies too - surprised no one took me up on it.

Fair enough. There are others who can't pass, but his distribution was poor yesterday and that seems worthy of comment in his thread. Overall it was one of his better games in recent memory, albeit one in which he was offered a lot of protection.
