No one is saying we don’t need a midfield or more goals, in fact that’s a widely regarded fact. A keeper who terrifies a fan base and seemingly his defence isn’t good enough. He’s there to make saves and yes to be fair he made a good one. He’s not there to force his CB to clear his unpressured fumble off the line or to abandon his position on the line and run at an opposition player who with a bit more nous would’ve just lobbed him.

If you watch the replay of the 'howler', it's obvious the ball takes a huge bobble just before pickford is about to stop the ball. The bobble is particularly obvious from the 'behind goal' camera. You can't do anything about a ball taking a bobble.
