If there's one thing you CAN say about Southgate, it's that he doesn't appear to easily bend to outside influence (see Grealish for a reference point). Think he's fairly settled on Pickford as his #1. As he should be - he's never ever let England down.

Perhaps he should have listened regarding Grealish he was good when ever he had a chance. Imo he’s better than Mount and Foden but he doesn’t play for a glamorous team.
