2020/21 Jordan Pickford

Carlo has defended Pickford after the game. Maybe he had to in front of the media, but I cannot imagine he is content with the present goalkeeping position at the club. Lampard did not criticise his erring keeper either but he bought another one presumably to replace him or provide back up.
Carlo defended our midfield last season, didn’t stop him dealing ruthlessly with them, as soon as he had the opportunity to replace them.

Winding up the horse punchers is a major plus surely?
I would happily detonate a nuclear device in that city and think it a day well spent.
What’s wrong with Shaun as an arl skinhead myself I thought he was boss!
Tiny arms? Really?
Never got the attitude criticism to be honest.
In the end it’s up to the management team to make the decisions anyway so nothing for us to get overly bent out of shape about ultimately.

By his attitude I mean stuff like sticking his tongue out to the camera when he's nearly dropped the ball over the line away at wolves when we have been absolutely battered that game, where he's turning around tryna banter the Geordies when he saved a pen only to go and make a mistake to cost us the game, I like a bit of that from players aslong as they back it up, not when your in the worst form of your life.

There's a lot to like about Pickfords ability when his head is straight. It's his attitude that's the problem and he looks the type who'll never be able to change it. I think he'll always have a clanger in him because of that.

There has to be a dilemma on how to deal with him. Goalkeepers who lose reputation rarely recover it, at least not for a long time, such is the unique nature of the job. The mud sticks, probably for months/years. We cannot sell him because nobody will buy an iffy goalkeeper. He would never go abroad because he appears to be too thick and would not cope with the change. Make him number 2 solves nothing for him as he would remain in the background on a high salary for ever.

He’s got the big mans backing

Koff Nev, can undestand you supporting a fellow goalie but you wasn't even as poor as Pickford when you were starting to get fat and just about to retire and you had everyone's support because you bled blue and had been the best goalie in the world for years. Pickford doesn't even come close to you, not many do tbh.

I agree with Big Nev im still pretty sure when someone is 1 on 1 Pickford will probably save it.

Just need to launch the ball 1st time when kicking.

I think he’s referring to his early days with us to be fair.
Whatever, I trust Nev’s judgement on goalies more than ours.
He wouldn’t back him if he didn’t think he was any good, certainly.
Doesn’t make him guaranteed to be right but it’s at least food for thought for some of his harshest critics, I would like to think,
