2020/21 Jordan Pickford

I'm giving Jordan Pickford the benefit of the doubt with the West Ham goal. Once again the players in front of him didn't exactly help the situation by leaving two of the opposition unmarked on the edge of our area; pretty much inviting a shot on goal. We need to switch on far quicker than that, or we'll just get caught out time and time again.

We cannot let him go. The loss to this forum of the analyses of his every move, positioning, blame for every goal etc would be devastating. Many on here might need counselling if he is withdrawn from the team. Has Carlo been made aware of the passion and intensity of the anti Pickford brigade?
It would be best of course if we got a better goalie, but I fear for some on here if and when he is dropped.

Test is when he is called up on to save us from defeat, then we shall see
Spurs away won us points.

I feel every goal that goes in now he is getting slaughtered. I was like that with Howard, he could pull of save after save and i would be distraught when he would come for a cross, even if a conceded goal came I would attribute to a poor goal kick that he did 10 mins beforehand.

At fault again? Poor positioning/Too slow moving back across his goal?

Watched it a few times now and think he will think he should definitely have done better. He sets himself when Anderson plays the ball back rather than shuffling back across the goal. If he's a couple or even one side step back towards the centre of the goal when Snodgrass strikes he saves it comfortably I think.

A decent keeper saves it. But that’s not the bar some people set for Pickford.

Not costing us points when our forwards are scoring 4 goals per game is the current standard apparently.

The beauty of no crowd noise

Yesterday he had the ball on the right hand side, outside the area, looked up and screamed ''HAMEZZZZ'' to alert him that the pass would be coming his way

..then kicked the ball straight out of play about 5 yards up the pitch from himself

I'm one of his biggest criticts, but due to lack of rumours of us signing a new GK we need to stand by him and keep the faith.

DCL and Keane made a fantastic progress, so I hope it'd the same with our T-Rex.
