A bit strange from Jordan Pickford for their goal; he was pretty much in the middle of the six-yard box, and in an ideal position to claim the ball from the corner, then he suddenly backtracked to his goal line.

Keane and Tarks made a mess of dealing with the ball into the box, but if Pickford had not have been stepping back towards his line he would have been able to claim the ball as it dropped. A better keeper just comes for that corner as he had plenty of space to come for it.
Almost cost us in the first half under no pressure and nearly dropped it into his own net.

I wasn't there so give way to those who saw it. BBC reporter said Pickford not at fault for their goal. Difficult conditions etc. He got a 7/10.

He`s never going to change the way he deals with crosses. If there`s a defender near the ball, he`ll leave it for the defender to deal with, even in his 6 yard box.
Last week at Villa he was poor for the first goal. Had he caught the cross instead of leaving the defender to win the ball we`d have gone in 2-0 up at HT.
There was a second string keeper playing for Frankfurt this evening and he came out to collect a ball around the penalty spot in injury time. Totally flattened the defender that went for the same ball. I`d like to see our keeper command his area like that, especially late in the game when the ball is put into the area as it takes the pressure off the defense and brake the momentum of the oppositions attack. We`ll never have this with Pickford in goal.

I support EFC not a keeper who leaks goals ATM - thank you ... It's not just this season - as a shot stopper I admire Pickford he has saved us with wonder saves on occasion - as a complete keeper no - maybe our defence is weaker too, but he seldom dominates his area from his time of arrival OK .....
I was born an Evertonian mate & have watched them since 1962! West, Martyn, & Big Nev { world class} - have been our best three keepers in that era ... -

Behave, mate. Joey's been on this forum for the best part of two decades, a supporter for a lot longer than that and financially contributes to the forum. His criticism was mild at worst and entirely justified. You don't have to agree with him but this sort of outburst just makes you look like a complete lemon.

I’ll never understand it when he just boots it quick to one man covered up by a few.
I get it you have to keep em honest to play so high and pressed.
It just seems that is set as his default option.
Just my opinion but for me it’s glaringly obvious.

I agree.
I'd like to hear from someone who sits in either end what his in play talking is like.
I have no issue bollocking anyone for a mistake etc which he does, but is he positioning players and instructing during play?
