2024/25 Jordan Pickford

Captain until end of the season now and I'd love to think his loyalty to Everton and general performances and impact especially over the past three seasons would see him rewarded with becoming the official squad captain next season. If now isn't the time, when? We should be looking to keep Branthwaite for as long as possible too, with a view of him succeeding Pickford as captain in 5 or so years (obviously he'll be sold way before then though).
 

Pickford is world class and anyone that thinks he isn't need to take their heads for a wobble. He isn't the England number 1 for a laugh, he is one of the longest serving England goalkeepers, he has made some outstanding saves in the last few seasons and is definitely one of the few bright things over the last few years of misery. He 100% has 'a mistake in him' but so does every other goalkeeper on the planet, even Big Nev made mistakes, don't get me wrong Nev is always starting in my Everton 11 but Pickford is on the bench. We'd have gone down without him, it is not just his saves it is his presence and getting the defenders going.

I agree totally Graeme but I'm not for him having the captaincy purely because he's a keeper, let him have it until the end of the season by all means but come the start of the season it needs to be an outfield player IMO, we can hopefully keep Branthwaite and should be grooming him for the skippers job.

Did you see Sanchez the other end? Hes regarded as a poor keeper. He made 2 saves that was harder to make than the goal Chelsea scored and took about 5 corners out the air. Pickford wont take 5 corners in a season. Hes a liability and saving a few shots a league 2 keeper would save doesnt change that.

No not at all and having a different opinion on a player means we support a different side grow up.
I post when I see stupid comments like he kept us up or hes world class cos it makes me laugh how anyone could watch him every week and think that.
Now I could be wrong and you right. But its an opinion on a footballer. I dont start calling you a Kopite cos I think you rate what i think is a poor player

Fitzys as blue as they come, pretty disgusting to have people call him a kopite especially from a certain poster who's mask slips by the day. His opinion on Pickford is wild but it's his.
