Meh. Pickford telling him to stop the cross or something, Gueye defending himself. Happens. At St James’ Park especially, at least they didn’t go full Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer.

Good to hear to be honest, sick of us conceding goals and having them all shuffle back into position for kick off as if they don’t care. I’d prefer them strangling each other to conceding soft goals.

I wasn't sure about his size and stature when we went in for him, but I'm glad now we have him. He gives you confidence that even when a forward has a shot, they've still got him to beat, must be great for our defence.

Seems to have a bit of character as well. Not just larking about like Tim Howard letting another shot from outside the area beat him in the middle of the goal.

A key moment for me was how he dealt with Coutinho’s free kick in the Derby. Put his wall up and just stood in the middle of the goal basically saying to Coutinho ‘go on then put it in the corner’. Coutinho actually hit a decent free kick but Pickford Just caught it. Compare that to Howard standing on one post leaving the whole goal open as he did numerous times against that lot. Gerrard’s in 14/15 at Anfield was mid height in the middle of the goal and Howard still didn’t keep it out.
