I've said it before and I'll say it again, he's just not big enough for the modern game. You've got centre halves who are 6-4 plus nowadays once they get a run on you your knackered.As a keeper you've got to get there first and be bigger and stronger you are, the better. If you come for the cross and you don't get the ball the chances are you'll get a free kick but you've got to at least get to the ball.

Westy and southall WERE great keepers though, cause not only were they great shot stoppers but 90% of the time they got the basics right as well.

I think he needs to improve on his decision making, that will come with experience i guess

Talking about West’s, have a read of Jack Charlton’s Autobiography, he talks about his tactic of standing in front of the keeper at corners to impede the keeper and how successful it was for Leeds until he tried it at Goodison he says he remembers feeling West’s 2 knees hitting him in the back and then being brought back to consciousness by the trainer. He also says that tactic ended that day, a tough bugger West’s.

Quality keeper but his decision making is where he keeps letting himself down. Needs a better keeping coach to tell him where he' going wrong he's always to hesitant

No it is not. All keepers make mistakes but some fail to look at the bigger picture and grasp an error for making a case of making out he is very good. It is the ridiculous statements on here over an error that gets the divs out of the woodwork. The bigger picture is Pickford is a good keeper and yes he did make an error but no we haven't got a crap keeper that some people are trying to convince us of.

in goalkeeping terms, he's still a kid. He could have 15+ years ahead of him in the top flight.
