No need to rewrite history at all, as the competition, since Southall, for Martin is Richard wright, Paul Gerrard and Tim Howard. Martyn was the only one who looked like an actual keeper and the clear standout, think after the dreadful Howard years we've forgotten what a proper keeper looks like, don't blame lads for getting excited after 10 years of the 'secutary of DEfence'

Sorry to put a dampener on it, the save was made to look better than it really was, because he used the wrong hand.

Not the wrong hand at all... no such thing... shot was going in the top corner... he stopped it.. I don't care if he used his right leg to save it...

I know you had concerns about this guy's ability to control his box. Have his performances so far done anything to allay your fears in this respect.

The Sunderland lads on here all said he was pretty good in this area.

I must admit I wasn't 100% on this buy before we went after him. Nothing to do with the lad himself; I just thought Robles was a better keeper than some are saying and that we had more important area's that needed filling (and still do with just over 2 weeks left). But I'm now delighted he's here. He has so much confidence and that spills over into the crowd. Normally against the likes of Crouch and Carroll, my heart is in my mouth every time the ball goes near the box, but yesterday it was brilliant to see the decisiveness and dominance he showed in dealing with crosses. As good as a great slide tackle or pinpoint through ball for me. Plus his distribution is possibly the best I've ever seen. can't wait to get Seamus and Bolasie back to really take advantage of this.

Agree. This is the most hopeful for a Nigel Martyn type solid keeper I've had in a long time. The fact he's young and he's at Everton is excellent in my view.

Not seen such professionalism from a keeper his age before.

I'd bet my right testicle that he's yet another tedious multi.

Pickford is a future England regular...will get 100 caps at least. All good for Everton.
