I don't think signing strikers from the league below who haven't scored in half a year is really a winning strategy to a team supposedly trying to qualify for Europe.

Maybe a team has had success with that in the past? Dunno, seems a bit strange.
We signed Marcus Bent who was playing in League One in 03/04

We signed Andy Johnson who was playing in the Championship in 05/06

Both seasons after we signed them we got European football, King has over 50 in the top flight but has suffered from a combination of injuries and COVID as otherwise he’d have been banging them in in the Championship

They were their side's best players. King has been out of the side and hasn't slotted in half a year, has already passed his prime and has quite an extensive injury list.

When players are in last few months of a contract and intend leaving the club they are interested in making sure they don't get injured or do anything to spoil a lucrative Love
King was no different.

People need to stop writing him off, he's had a few cameo appearances when we (as a team) haven't been playing well at all. In the United game, he was quite effective and won a free-kick which led to an equaliser. He came on against Fulham which was our worst team performance on the season and then he came on yesterday, was thrown in on the left and spent most of the time tracking back. I think us, as fans, need to give the lad a chance.

Absolutely disgraceful that he didn’t use the 20 minutes he was given to turn the game on its head and score the hat trick required for us to win the game. That is the level of striker we should be signing, you know the one with the ability to tear apart one of the best teams in the world, the like of which only two or three teams in the world actually have and we haven’t signed since Linekar. Clubs gone.
