Transfer Rumour Juan Mata

Agree with Mata on corners and set pieces, but I'd equally like Baines to rediscover some of his prowess in the set piece department.

I still find it hard to believe that the likes of Baines, Ross and Rom somehow all miraculously lost their ability to take a set piece at the same time.

Lack of training or direction I think rather than any lack of ability. With right mentorship, I think we'll have lots more options again next season.

Banies has to be back on pens. Had a great record until he missed one and kev decided to be a big child against west brom.

Don't mins Ross taking the odd free kick as he's got a lovely strike on him.

Prefer Lukaku to stay away from them all.

Mata will challenge and maybe take over all responsibility of set pieces.

Sorry mate, not going to advise on bets. You have to follow your own instinct.

Personally I think he (Lukaku) is staying.

Re Mata tweet, that changes nothing re him coming here.

Thanks anyway mate, I did already lash the £50 on before I saw your reply. Here's hoping.

Baines was an imperious free kick taker as well if on the left foot, but he suddenly seemed to drop down the pecking order under Martinez.

Kev was rather effective under the last few years of Moyes as well. While Rom wouldn't be my first choice, he's not too shabby either as an option.

What I was trying to suggest is that we should have a fair few options at our disposal if Koeman can fix it, as it became pretty atrocious.

Personally, the Kev and Baines incident for me showed the lack of insight and direction in the camp under Roberto which mustn't have helped.

Kev wasn't blameless and he showed his immaturity, but it shouldn't have been allowed to happen. It's for the coach to impose those decisions...

This person is the primary free-kick taker and this person is second etc. If they don't want to take it then it's for them otherwise that's the order.

I think Roberto just gave them all free will and that's why Baines reluctantly allowed it to occur and Jags didn't step in and hold the line.

So lads, will Mata be a wide-ish player like Pienaar, Cleverley, Nasri, Silva for Spain, Mata at United, Payet at times etc

or a more traditional attacking midfielder such as Ross, Alli, Iniesta etc

Agree with all that mate. Depends on who else he goes for. Might end up getting another who is a dead ball specialist.
