true. Replacing what stones might be will be dificult but actually replacing what he is to our squad right now. will not be as hard as people are making out.
I have to agree with this. He is quality, you could build a team around him, I think he will be that good. However, his greatest legacy could be being the launchpad that returns us to the top table.

Please don't avoid the swear filter
Senegal clearly have 4 other World Class defenders that were keeping him out the side for the last 5 years.

:coffee::coffee::coffee:

f**&kin Smalling and Cahill kept Jags and Stones out of the England team at Euro2016. Managers ay, go figure

Everyone seems to be raving about him, but until last year he never had a senior cap. So while people are claiming he is one of the top defenders in the world and would be a statement signing?? It took the Senegal FA and the French FA a while to try and get him to play international football for them.

Who does Niasse play for again?

It's in wiki!!
Kalidou Koulibaly was born and raised in France by Senegalese parents, and was therefore eligible for both nations. He played for the U-20 French side starting in 2011. However, in early September 2015, Koulibaly changed federations and joined the Senegal national football team, despite the interest to call him for Les Bleus from Didier Deschamps.[12] He made his debut on 5 September 2015 in an AFCON qualifier againstNamibia in a 2–0 victory.

Yes, Niasse plays for Senegal, but so does Sadio Mane, Demba Ba (or did) etc.
Lee Dixon played for England, but so did Gazza, Lineker!

53m.

Spending 45m of it on somebody whos careers consists of 12months of decent play seems a risk.

But what do I care, it aint my money.

Dont forget 15% to barnsley....almost a straight swap.

Hes been good for more than 12months mate...

He's so great that Senegal or France never even tried to get him to play an international till he was 25. Considering, he is supposedly one of the best defenders in the world, not many people noticed.

How much should one of the best defenders in world football be valued at....?

I just don't see why we should spend that amount on a player who's had one good season, in the Italian league which apart from Juve is no way near as strong as the premier league.

I think it's a huge risk to spend that much

Do we owe Barnsley 15 percent of the sale price or 15 percent of the profit?

Not that it makes much difference I suppose considering how cheap he was but still.

He played for France u-20s until 2012, played full international in 2015. 3 year gap between the step from that level until full status is quite reasonable. Deschamps wanted him, but he maybe got impatient and chose to play for the country of his parents. Nobody noticed though hey?
