Keepers who let you down

Been thinking this over for a few days since something popped up in another thread. Got me thinking about past keepers we have had and the high hopes I had for them. Ultimately they let me down.

Richard Wright I thought was going to be absolute great for years for us. Had a nightmare and then went into obscurity.

Simonsen was another who ended up being a disaster. Sure he was signed as a record fee for a keeper aswell.

Myhre was probably never great but as he was a random keeper from abroad I was hoping he would be boss. Don’t think he was terrible but just never really breathed confidence.

He got away with so much here. Was until he final season he was getting hounded. He was genuinely average.

He got away with so much here. Was until he final season he was getting hounded. He was genuinely average.

At best he was average for a very long time, and yes he seems to have been let off lightly by the Goodison faithful

When you watch back highlights from previous seasons he conceded so many weird goals, mad how we just didn’t notice it for so long.

....not particularly but he wasn’t even bang average. I feel he let us down in the League Cup Final defeat by Villa.

Always liked Myhre thought he was a very good keeper maybe not absolutely top tier but still a very capable keeper.

He wasn't so bad as in blatant clangers but his positional sense was shocking, constantly getting 30 yarders blasted past him or getting caught under the ball on crosses.

Yeh that’s my thoughts. Think he should of been great but just never got to them levels.
