KEIOC Protest

Status
Not open for further replies.
Nope, KEIOC showed a Kirkby town meeting a video of our fans fighting Manure fans outside of Goodison.

Saying "You don't want this in your community do you?"

very low.

Has anyone contacted them about this, and have they issued a response?

They issued a pathetic apology on their website after they realised how badly it backfired on them.

Strangely cannot find it on the KEIOC website so....

From ToffeeWeb
KEIOC play the wrong card

26 Jun - The KEIOC campaign made a serious error of judgement when they chose to use the spectre of football violence as a dire warning to the residents of Kirkby, should they choose to approve the plans for city centre regeneration that may (or may not!) include a new stadium for Everton FC. Showing videos of violence at the Everton-Man Utd game served only to cast KEIOC in a bad light. Spokesman Alfie Hincks has subsequently issued an apology.

An apology 27/06/07

As a Kirkby resident, I attended a public consultation exercise organised by
Knowsley council yesterday Tuesday 26th June 2007.

Various members of the press approached me for my comments and I
was quite
happy to chat with the media in an open and honest manner and to
give them my
views.

Unfortunately I made grave error of judgement. During the past few
months I have
been approached by local residents opposed to the stadium
development who
viewed their concerns that this kind of development would have a
detrimental effect
on the local community. Often citing anti social behaviour and
football related
violence. Personally, I was of the opinion that it would assist
local residents make
a balanced judgement because to make a considered decision you need
to look
at the negatives as well as the positives.

It was never my intention to besmirch the good name of Everton
Football club or
the residents of Kirkby, and apologise unreservedly to anybody who
may have
taken offence to any comments I may have made yesterday

I deplore all forms of violence and do my utmost to promote Everton
Football
Club Evertonians, and no matter where I travel whether it be at
home or abroad.
I will continue to campaign for Everton Football club to be open &
transparent
and include all match-going Evertonians in the ballot process.

Perhaps now with the benefit of hindsight my approach in the future
will be more
considered.

I believe in being responsible for my own actions and I am willing
to tender my
resignation at our next committee meeting.

Yours sincerely

Alfie Hincks

shows the wit of some of the people concerned that they would do that kind of thing, whether it be by design or as he states by accident.

Just read Tony Marsh report of a KEIOC meeting on TW. I was about two hundred posts down of this slanging match when i decided to drink more beer and forget about it.

One thing I've noticed on the TW site, is more and more Yes voters are coming forward and being vocal.

I think its natural the no voters will be loud, as its easy to vote no and be 100%. But everyone who voted yes was only 51%-99% in their heads.

We all want a City solution. Some of us appreciate we have neither the space, the money or the partners to realise this in the city.

And whilst BK and Wyness are a little manipulative and a shade duplicitous at times, I cannot see they are hell bent in doing anything other than making the club healthy and competitive.

Certain liverpool councellors will continue to manipulate and make political capital out of all this.

If I had a pub, bar, cafe or chippy anywhere near Goodison I'd be knackered when we move. Could thse be the folk behind the protests..

I'm glad they made it known it will a 'peaceful' protest. I just hope the supporters of the ground move will respect this, and just get in their cars/buses/trains and go home, rather than hang around gawping, or throwing petrol bombs at police horses and local children (even the RS ones).

Good point, Suits, it may well have been taken into account, but kick off times have been changed before, especially where Man U are concerned.

KEIOC= Kinky Egoistic Idiotic Offalsmelling Crapheads

There were a vote, didn't go their way so they sulk and try to do something to prevent a move that a majority of the chosen voters wanted. They seem to be unable to understand the concept of "Democracy" and "Majority".
