Really odd situation, given all the speculation then him signing a new extended deal. But then how we have played against Soton and Chelsea,he'll need to be patient.

He doesnt give a fak about EFC nor his team mates. Nothing new

I was really surprised to see him extend his contract. Something is clearly not right with Kev and it was very disappointing to see his reaction to our goals at the weekend.
Ideally I hope we are building up his frustrations to then start him in the Merseyside derby.

With the talent he has maybe if he had half of Naismith's work rate desire and attitude Martinez would turn to him from the bench rather than Naismith. This season though Mirallas has just floated through games staying out wide offering nothing in attack or defence. That's why he's on the bench, if he was playing anywhere near his potential there's no way he'd be left out. You see the difference when Lennon and Naismith were on the flanks as both can press the ball and cover defensively, forced Chelsea into mistakes, or into the middle which we had packed. If your wise men don't put in the work you get stretched all over the pitch with the likes of McCarthy having to come across. The success v Chelsea was built on us pressing Chelsea higher up the pitch with Kone McCarthy Barkley and Naismith. When we did win it back Barry then had the time he wanted to pick passes. Can Mirallas and Deulofeu offer this work rate? Maybe against lesser opposition at home Martinez will turn to them.

Well said.

People mistake his tantrums for passion, but he needs to do more for the team. It's like the Suarez challenge he made in the derby. As fans, we loved it, but as a professional, you have to think of the team rather than yourself. It's the reason why Naismith is chosen ahead of him in games like Chelsea. Naismith gets the opposition riled but is a lot cleverer in roughing up the opposition.

It's not even a contest in terms of talent between Mirallas, Lennon and Naismith, yet he is often going to be third choice behind two lesser players due to his bad attitude and lack of work rate.

If he isn't starting by Christmas then fully expect him to be off in the January window should West Ham or someone else come back in for him, seems at least from the outside that Martinez is wanting to drive home a point to him about either attitude or commitment - when he gets his chance he will need to take it big time

The annoying thing about mirallas is that he can change his attitude, workrate, teamwork etc. He must know this is what he needs to do to get in the team. Is he too arrogant/stubborn to up that side of his game?

It is really strange why he hasn't really been included in the Premier league. One of the first names on the team sheet for me and quite comfortably our best forward. Very odd situation.

Something not right here, not celebrating goals, and he stayed out having a kick about with the mascots when I'm sure he should have been in listening to the tactics, Ive done it before at non league level, sulked basically and kicked a bottle at the dugout showering water over everybody. Hated being on the bench its the worst thing ever, especially when you arent getting paid for playing.

He started the Watford match but had that awful tackle which probably put him out of starting contention with an ankle injury for a couple of games - others played well in his absence and now he needs to fight his way back in.

Tbf he was also good vs Barnsley but the extra time probably exhausted him for Spurs, he always seems to perform better when well rested.
