Yeah not a deal we should look at for 30, 15/20 maybe if they thibk worth it. Been linked to this lad today a lcb.

We were linked with Greaves in 2021 i think.

I feel a bit differently about the fees. We need to add quality and that costs real money.

Instead of aiming for 3 players for the price of a quality one...id rather we just signed that one quality player.

For example: Sell Maupay, DCL & Beto and sign one top young centre forward.

Sell Holgate & Keane and sign one young centre back as backup with Godfrey.

Have to go with a smaller squad but higher quality & potential incomings.

STOPGAPS

Vinagre: A strange one as before Wolves he was very highly rated. Seems to havs constantly gone downhill since his first season with them. It was a loan with low wages so not bothered.

Coady: Excellent then dropped off over the season. Perhaps time caught up with him early as hes hardly getting a look in at Leicester. A good player to have in the squad but let go to open a pathway for Branthwaite.

Gana: Strange signing but short term, low fee makes sense as a stop gap.

Maupay: The man who caused Brightons attack to fail and we signed him. Hopefully we get a chunk of money back when he inevitably moves to Brentford. Was it Thelwell or was it a Moshiri/Kenwright signing?

Young: Gift from Moshiri for the manager?

Danjuma: Far too selfish which surprised me.

Harrison: Head scratcher of a signing. Just a poor player who manages to deliver something effective every half a dozen games.

NO MONEY DOWN

Beto: The more you see him the more you want to sell before any monies are due. 26 years old, 25 when we bought him and never looked like being a premier league starter. Generally say players need a year to settle in but id gladly send him back to Italy on a small loss (effectively a loan fee amount).

Chermiti: I think hes got something about him. Due to the failure of others im surprised hes not been given more chances. Has time on his side and id hope he gets more time before end of the season.

SIGNED AS STARTERS

McNeil: Jury is out as he was poor then great and then his wife has had a serious illness.

Tarkowski: Quite simply a brilliant player.

Garner: Good, English all rounder.

Onana: If only we had money to build around him. The best DM we have had for a very long time.

CONCLUSION

I'm judging him on the last 4 signings as theyre the actual first teamers who i expect he saw as fixtures.

When you look at the amounts we'll easily generate a profit overall.

This summer we need a clear out which hes got form for decent money sales.

Hopefully McNeil and Chermiti come good. Will judge Beto next season if hes still here.
You’ll be disappointed then. 2 years in to his 120 point plan and the signings are just random players that dont fit any system either manager as utilised

Why the lol mate? Weve bid in Jan with the summer obligation to buy. Plus Thelwell seems to return for his targets.

Somehow, with limited funds at bare minimum he'll need to add:

1 FB
1 CM
1 WF
1 CF

There will need to be alot of proactive action this summer. But he must reinvest into u21s to grow the squad value & hope to find players with high potential that can hit the ground running.

Going to be very exciting.

It really is not though is it.

Beto'o and Chermiti haven't had enough game time to judge either of them (imo). A big reason why we opted for Beto'o was also because of the structure of the deal thanks to the FFP noose currently around our necks.

Chermiti is also the type of signing the hipsters in our fanbase are constantly crying out for i.e young and not from the Prem.

Maupay has scored about 10 goals for Brentford this season - Lampard ruined him.

Why was he even worse under Dyche then?

The probelm is with high fees is we need several positions covered is every postion except cf because i think we wont sell in that position. I do understand what you mean but at the same point the squad is to small, we need to use loan spots free transfers and everything. Try be smart and build up the team

High fee youngsters are not coming here to showcase their abilities in a Dycheball setup like Zat thinks either, we need to be a bit smarter like you say and spread things across the squad.

Zat seems to think Thelwell is doing well, Dyche is doing well, we have a £200 million midfield - yet simultaneously thinks the squad is so diabolical, it’s impossible for them to pass the ball to each other occasionally.

He is endless entertainment is Zat. We’ll just sell all our strikers for a combined £100m and use that to buy Victor Osimhen and then we’re sound. Easy isn’t it.

He’s also great and building potential teams using tenuous links from most bizarrest of news outlets. A typical Zat post:

“Oh look, tribalfootball said Thelwell looked at Jude Bellingham. Imagine a midfield of Bellingham and Onana. A spine of Branthwaite Bellingham and Chermiti. Amazing”

In the real world; Thelwell proceeds to buy Ashley Young

I like it when he starts calculating how much we need to raise in order to bypass FFP and fund a “splurge” in the summer. Like we just haven’t thought of the idea of selling Holgate and Gomes before and we’re sat on some pot of gold.

This went well
After selling Gomes + Gray to Saudi = £45mil approx.

So, in theory we could sell Godfrey, Holgate and Keane for £20mil total. Less £6mil amortization = £14mil.

Plus saved wages for all 5 = £20mil.

=£34mil in fees and savings.

Thats a nice conservative amount to put towards new players.

Yeah i do like the look of that greaves lad at hull also seen talk about ballard at sunderland, can see us trying for onana deals with high sell on. Loan with fixed priced put in, is a massive window at the end of season
