Again, all quite dour and slightly downbeat, but the honesty is vital. Plenty of it in there. There are only positives from Thelwell being more communicative; I’m sure he can handle the odd rant that comes his way. So stupid that he seems to be shielded from direct fan consultations. He should always have been held up by the club as part of a very very very long term, slow, gradual solution, and separated from the idiocy of the recent past.

These club statements from senior people appear to be getting regular since the announcement of board changes. It’s a start at least. Doesn’t get us 3 points sadly.

Huge success from his 150 point strategic overhaul. Is that the only success he's been able to pinpoint? 😂

In terms of our footballing strategy, we are 18 months into a plan that will bring significant long-term benefit - with particular focus on our Academy structures and pathways.

There have already been short-term benefits from that strategic approach, as demonstrated by the huge increase in game-time for our on-loan players in 22/23.

The dudes doing what can be reasonably done mate, the club needs a dose of medicine and we need a lad to be dishing out onto spoons properly, even if it tastes nastier then the Koolaide we've been on at times under his predecessors.

If Thelwell was given the dough Walsh + Brands were trusted with to spend we'll be a top 7 club currently.

Seems to have an eye for good young players - Onana, Kudus, Gnonto, Murdyk to name just a few he's targeted these past 12 months.

Disagree...Good eye is easy nowadays...the difference between the top dof and the "others" is the ability to attract those players, is the ability to sell them the football club so that they want to join us. He is useless at that.

Problem is Bebeto you cant seal a deal if you aint got the dough. Kudus was gushing at the prospect of joining us but Ajax pulled the plug when Utd chucked £90 millions on that show pony Antony.

Last season man had no money to spend whilst clubs like Chelsea can spend £700 millions in 12 months. If the club had the freedom of spend Gnonto would be already in the Royal Blue jersey.

Make no mistake the Tories have done a number on us cutting off our supply of USM sponserships.
