My concerns still stand out a bit. He’s very in and out of the game against an Arensal side made up of a lot of players in the same age group, bar the odd few of course.

I’d love to see him just take it by nuts and dictate.

I still reckon we’ll see a couple of magic moments in this game from him though.

We spent £45mill for someone similar.

But at least Dowell can beat a man

Absolutely spot on - you can tell he's class when he's on the ball. Whether he makes it or not at the top level will, I believe, be all down to how much he can be involved in games.

In it for one moment in the first half and creates the opening goal.

The bulk of our players = play 90 minutes and contribute nothing significant.

That doesn’t take away from my Dowell concerns though.

Still think this loan will make him the player we all want him to be.

I agree.

However, he's very much going to be a "luxury" player imo. Not a problem for me...but based on what happened to Barkley (more physically robust and involved) the fume will be strong with this one

Yes actually. Looks stronger to me.

And the experience of playing week in week out will undoubtedly have helped him.

And I’m actually seeing him track back here. Which i was worried about as he never seemed to in the few u23 games I’d watched.

I dont see much chasing down or making runs.

He's a player that has a great first touch and vision to make it tell...and a wand of a foot.

That's what he has to offer. If someone needs chasing down or tackling, forget it.

I was going to comment on his tracking back as well. He looks really composed on the ball from my point of view.

Davies-vlasic-DCL could all benefit from a loan down in the Championship the way Dowell seems to be from his.

People complaining he flits in &’out of games & doesn’t dominate but does have fantastic end product.

We have just paid £46 million for a weak slow player who has little impact in games but has world class end product.

Oh well. We are seeing different but positive things. It’s all good.
