He's plainly good enough to play last night, he's got creativity and ability to play a pass that no one else who was available last night has. In addition he's got a great shot on him from outside the area. I would have had Kenny, Davies, Dowell and Lookman playing.
They were a tough physical side , your selection would have been trampled into the ground within 45 mins.

Don't talk nonsense. He'd have had their lumbering back line turning and twisting trying to cover his through passing. As it was their defence cantered through the whole game. No wonder they all looked disappointed to have lost at the end.

It's like Matt Le Tissier and a sack of potatoes had a love child and told him to stand in one place and let the ball come to you. Never move or you might fall down a big hole.

I don't think so, for a start I think Davies offers more physically than Klaasen. We also had two holding midfielders. Mirallas is hardly a tough physical player. Dowell, Lookman & Kenny are fitter and sharper after playing in U20 World Cup. Couldn't have done worse.

Hindsight is a great thing, but koeman was never going to start all those players you referred to last night. It's interesting koeman in his post match interview, koeman spoke about the left back being a poor defender and they had targeted this. It begs the question why wasn't lookman starting in the right of the front 3 then. Going by last nights performance, martina didn't do anything more than JJ Kenny can. That was the only other change I would have made.

I know he wasn't, doesn't mean he shouldn't have. I don't think it unreasonable that he started with Kenny and Lookman, he could have brought Dowell off bench. Davies I would certainly have started with.

Don't understand why he wasn't played last night, even for 30 mins.

Was he on the bench?

Presume he get some minutes in the away leg
