Kilfoyle's letter on the OS

Forget mad as a box of frogs, balloon-headed Kilfoyle's mad words, that's not the issue. The issue here is the club have published this letter on the cusp of a decision coming through. It may well go for them, but I'd have to question why, if things were going their way, they'd choose to publish such a confrontational letter now?

It's either:

a) Kirkby has the go-ahead and they're putting two fingers up to LCC

or

b ) it's being called in and they're lashing out and lining the fall guys up for failure

I must say, that letter took me by surprise.
I agree with you mate, why would the club print that letter if every thing is fine?(n)

I mean this is a poltician representing the area affected writing to those who are making a decison, cant be brushed to the side. Because you dont agree with it.

I.M.O. it ccould be a warning shot from the club to test the waters, in fact some beleive (i am not one) that the go ahead has already been given and the club are working hard to put a postive spin on things in terms of damage limitation.

People are bored at the mo without any concreate news, well once the strory breaks, you may expect a very busy few weeks in terms of announcing signings and agreeing contracts etc!

In case you have all forgotten, Everton Football Club WANTS to get the go ahead for Kirkby and have been, for a number of months now, publishing stories that only have positives about Kirkby and why we should go there, for that very reason. Everyones looking so deep, but its fricking obvious why they put the letter up there.

I'm honestly sick to [Poor language removed] at hearing so many [Poor language removed] theories on this forum.

Same here.

Sometimes most of the stuff reads like an episode of the X Files meets Chinatown with everyone backstabbing and conspiring against everyone else

everyone is entitled to their twopenneth, and everyone could read something differently, and someone could see something no-one else has worked out for themselves, isnt that what its all about or is this a site of people who cant take onboard other views for fear of changing their mind.
if you notice my avatar, it is a t-shirt i wear around the house, with the point being that in this house apparently i'm never right, i put it up here with a large slice of sarcasm. for the record though...........
:lol:ITS NOT OFTEN I'M WRONG, BUT I'M RIGHT AGAIN !!!:lol:

Well there's no conspiracy from me. I believe this can go either way. I'm honestly just trying to find a decent, logical answer to the queston 'why if things are on course would the club publish that letter?' I mean, it's not as if they publish stuff about the move on the OS every day is it?

If anything this letter, and its' publication on the OS suggests that the stadium will not be called in.

Kilfoyle would not at this stage of the process be willing to back anything but the winner, and the content of the letter is most certainly pro-Kirkby, and as suggested previously a non too transparent dig at LCC.

You obviously have little background knowledge of Mr Kilfoyle. The term loose cannon could have been coined for him personally. The man could give a flying [Poor language removed] what anyone thinks - Prime Ministers included - and he certainly isn't arsed about his career - he resigned from the Cabinet.

As I've said, forget Kilfoyle's motives, they are irrelevant. It's the club's motives in seeking out Kilfoyle's permission to publish that need to be addressed.

Ermm thanks for the political history lesson, although how you can ascertain my level of knowledge of Kilfoyle from what I said I don't know.

I stand by my comments above.

Well, that's my mistake. Given you know the man's form, then, you'll know that for all his faults he's a conviction politician....which sort of cuts through any theory he 'wants to be on the winning side'.

Um, it's a letter from the MP of the constituency the club is located in, supporting the move that the club is trying to take. A move which many people have reservations about for, amongst many reasons, the negative effect the move will have on the area to be vacated, which he is dispelling. The MP of that area. What's not to get?
