Off the pitch, he seems a good, genuine guy. On the pitch, an absolute weapon. Suppose all top managers have that streak.

He is a superb manager though and will be a massive loss for them. Seen the links to Alonso and while he's doing brilliantly at Leverkusen, its his first major job and a totally different proposition to the RS. We seen how well Gerrard done at Rangers and was lauded at the next big thing. Couldnt replicate that at Villa.

100% a complete weapon on the pitch, but is there anyone who wouldn't have had him turn up here instead of Martinez? We'd be where they are now.

I honestly can't see them replacing him and sustaining things, its too big a job to renew the side whilst fighting off six-seven teams for four spots. One would also imagine this would mean Salah is guaranteed to be sold too.
