Is anyone else getting completely [Poor language removed] off with the amount of stabbings going on at the moment?! Im going to sound like my dad but what the [Poor language removed] is this country coming too?!

Another girl gets killed yesterday- stabbed and killed for no reason. It really is making me sick at the moment!

the planet if filled with scum. It seems to be the latest fad at the moment mick. One week its guns then dangerous dogs now blades. Every little [Poor language removed] is carrying one. Just dont know what we can do about it.

As a parent myself, the blame should sit on the sholders of the mums an dads. Who bring these horrilbe little tw@ts into the world an let them run amuck. My daughter will be brought up right with respect an disaplin an will never carry a blade or be a thug.

These kids are brought up with no love or harmony at home an so turn into evil little sods. Kids have to be tought well at home,an shown how to live decent.

The athorities need to get a lot harder on the families an not just slap them with a pointless ASBO (what a joke).

I think carrying a kinife- you go to jail no grey area, just banhed up. That will soon make them think about it.

Thing is thou mick. Some of these kids just dont care, two years in the clink is nothing to them. The have nothing to lose. They need to be tought how to be a responsible human being. They need proper homes an people who will look after them. so Going to nick means being away from loved ones, etc.

Dont get me wrong some people are just lost causes. But sociaty makes most kids what they are today. High cost of living meen parets work longer still have no money an kids on the streets are doing anything to get a bit of cash. Muggings, burgulry, drugs etc.

I dont know what the answer is,but sending every one to jail at tax payers money cant be the way forward.

The zero tolerance approach could make a difference. Granted, it would create victims along the way. It would be unfortunate if, for example, people were getting done for an array of minor crimes. However, it seems to me that we're on the cusp of creating a society where crime, particularly minor crime, is seen as acceptable. If we change this now, throw the book at the feckless little gits that seem to think that they have the right to do what they want to do, then the next generation might think before it acts. Oh yeah, and bring back the birch!

To be fair there was a reason. Not sure exactly what it was as I don't watch the news, but the two people did know one another. It wasn't a random attack between two strangers.

Thats fair then, seriously Brucey what are you on about?!

So the reason might have been that she owed her some money or whatever- is that a reason to kill someone??!!

I think that it might be something to do with a stalker. They're not saying much other than she'd had a problem with someone recently.

if that is the case then it might have been a pre-meditated murder.

a man in his 30's has been arrested? on the face of it he sounds mentally ill if he did this.

the police do not believe it was gang related.

I'm not saying the reason was a valid one, just that the two people did know each other and presumably there was some kind of dispute between them. He didn't walk up to a stranger and decide to stab them.

Sadly life doesn't seem to hold much value. Not picking on Cal but it annoyed me when he frowned at people going 50 in a 40 zone in the what makes you angry thread. As a cyclist I encounter lunatic drivers on a daily basis that put my life at risk. Their behaviour probably gets them to their location a few minutes faster. Is it worth it?

In my loacl newsagent the other week the owner chases a kid out for calling him a Asian ***** So this kid pulls a gun out waves itround and invites the shopkeeper to come and get it then he runs off the police come and the 12 year old is soon traced as apparently his family are well known it turns out to be a replica and the kids mum wants to know what the fuss is? I saw the gun and I thought it was real anyhow the police took it and I heard hes got another one,now in the future if he gets shot by the police whos to blame? me I think the mother (there is no dad)

Racist attacks.

I owned many shops for many years in Liverpool. I had many great customers who were in truth the majority of my trade. But in truth as with all areas of Britain there is a minority of pure uneducated, evil and ignorant scum. I was stabbed twice and shot at three times and was very lucky in some respects.

The only way to sort the knife epidemic is to treat them just like guns. If you are caught with one a mandatory 15 years sentence should be implemented. Some may say there is no room in the prisons. Then build more-if they waste money going to war in Iraq they can build more prisons.

Being the victim of racist attacks and having your families life threaten because you reported someone stealing from the shop you paid for and items you struggled to buy is not acceptable.
