Kone Signs on 3 Year Deal

Firstly, we'd already bought Kone, so it's not like Vic went to make way for him ffs. Vic went to make way for the fantastic Lukaku, but hardly surprising that a negative goon like you skipped past that minor detail.

Secondly, Kone is a 1 in 3 striker over his career, Vic's record is nearer 1 in 7. Despite his improvement last season for £6m he simply had to go, he's never going to make a top PL striker, nor will he ever hit 1 in 3 consistently either imo.

Victor's job wasn't to be a top PL striker

His job was to be a man who charged at defenses and created opportunities for others

And that's what Vic was best at. He was a monster in the City game last year. Thinking about the standing ovation he got that day gives me chills. What a moment

The standing ovation he got by many when he was subbed at home to West Ham last season (final home game) gave me chills. Especially considering he didn't seem even slightly grateful of the support he received for a completely terrible performance.

Thanks for the memories, Vic. All four of them.

6 million was a good fee for a lad with a horrible injury record who was never going to e a regualr first choice. It looks like Bobby didn't rate him.

I wasn't a Vic hater ,good luck to him, but Lukaku is a superior player. I havent seen enough of Kone to judge yet but my instinct the moment is too feel I'd rather not have bought him and kept Vic

haha, nicely put.

My abiding memory of him will be him sitting on his arse waving his arms & contorting his face like a 5 year old who wants some pick & mix, after falling over 30 yards from the opposition goal.

Can´t believe we got 6 mil for him. Great business.

Harsh mate

He worked hard least season. Had his best one for us really

Which bit do you think was harsh, mate? He was so bad against WHU the majority of the people in the Upper Bullens were laughing at him. Literally laughing, like we were watching a reel from You've Been Framed. When he was subbed off he got a huge amount of applause and didn't acknowledge it in the slightest. During the lap of honour later on he just sauntered around like the moody grock he's always been, walking to the beat of his own drum, which is also the beat of Vanilla Ice's b-side collection.

Or is it harsh that I thanked him for four memories. Maybe it was rhetoric but, come to think of it, I remember his City performance last season, and the good finish against Newcastle. I remember him making the German plumbers of Numemberg cry for a few minutes. I remember Kevin Nolan turning his shin into a jigsaw. Hmmmm.....
