I agree completely; people are vastly underestimating how good a player he is. The same people, by the way, who **** off every other Wigan player who played under Martinez. Kone managed to score 13 goals with those players around him last season.

I for one am actually exited about signing this lad, and Martinez, in my opinion, has made a very astute move by bringing him in.

I admit the extremes of both points of view makes me laugh.

There's one camp who view martinez and all his players as so gash it makes you wonder how they managed to win a trophy and the other who talk in such glowing terms about their entire set up that it makes you think they won the league rather than got relegated.
 
The best thing about Kone is that if we start the season with Jelavic (who may well find that incredible form again), Kone and Anichebe, then we have 3 completely different options up top and this could potentially be a nightmare for opposition preparing to play us.

Jelavic is potentially the best poacher in the league, anichebe is potentially the new drogba and kone the complete forward....

But realistically would anyone actually clasd them of the quality of being a nightmare for the opposition?

Where would our strikers rank in abilitt compared to other teams -- 10th perhaps?
 

Would be a pretty good signing. Nothing wrong with Martinez buying somebody who he knows and for £5 million it should still leave him with money to spend.

He scored 13 goals for a relegated team. With the same manager and better players, hopefully he can score us a few more.
 

You all remember those two summers under Moyes where the only players we signed were Jermaine Beckford and the indomitable duo of Straq and Drenthe? Well, I for one do, and would be very pleased with Kone, Deulofeu and Alcaraz in the first few weeks of the window. Then, if we do happen to sell Felli and Heitinga, we can go after a top drawer player or two to really boost our squad.

Jelavic in form, Anichebe causing trouble, and Kone just all round destroyer, those 3 in form would be top 7 in the league I think.
