Kone Signs on 3 Year Deal

Having seen him quite a bit when he played in the Netherlands and also for Levante, i'll have to say i'm really quite excited about seeing the lad in a royal blue shirt.

Great pace, strength and technique. I have no doubt he'll be our top goalscorer come next season, he was an absolute beast when he was on loan at Levante. The main reason he didn't reach 20+ goals there, came from the fact, that he was moved further back on the pitch late in the season, as the loan would be terminated if he'd reach 20 goals (i believe).

Genuine positivity.
Makes a welcome change to this thread!

just had another look at youtube clip. what I like is the different goals he scores. I don't really understand the negativity. He is at his peak at 29, and with the cruciate meaning he missed 18 months he is probably fresher than most 29-year olds.

He is an international and already attuned to the premiership and the way RM wants to play.

I would like to know what people think would have been a better buy for the money. I love the fact that we have Kone and Jelavic - as well as Anichebe. Great options.

Excited to see him play

Haha, he is fresh 29 year old because he had a serious injury.

He best sign Alan Smith as well, with all the injuries he has he must have the body of a 21 year old.

We need to give him a chance. We've been crying out for years for a strong, pacey striker and now we have one. The only problem is, that kind of player costs a lot of money so Kone fits the bill perfectly.

He scored 10+ goals for a relegated team last year. With the same manager and better players there's no reason why he can't score more. If he scored 20+ league goals in the next couple of seasons he'll have repaid his fee.

Positivity isn't welcome on this forum mate.

Would be worth a punt woudn't it? What if's dont get you anywhere

'It would be worth a punt'... we are talking about Barcelona's David Villa, 31, top scorer at Euro 2008, Silver Boot winner at 2010 world cup and Spain's all time top scorer?

Optimistic isn't the word.

Why would Villa ever come to Everton?

29 isn't old, worst case scenario we get him at his peak for a year or two. 5 mil isn't a lot for a transfer either so its all good.
