They should be allowed to think what they want on footballing terms without you bringing up something that they didn't do and making things really uncomfortable.
Considering I wasn't present at any of those events I'd say I'm right.
Why shouldn't they? Especially since kopites seem to think they were the victims for being banned. And especially because your glorious club has never apologised to Everton FC (or indeed anyone, as for as I'm aware) for what happened. Two weeks earlier, the Dutch police were playing football in the streets of Rotterdam with Evertonians and calling impromptu press conferences to praise our exceptionally good-natured behaviour. Why shouldn't we be proud of that? Why shouldn't we be allowed to call into question any white-washing of a terrible event which had profound repercussions for every English club but Everton more than anyone? What gives your club the right not to face up to its past in its entirety, good and bad? You'd command a lot more respect if you ever did.
there's a load of Everton fans who weren't around either who take so much pleasure in a human tragedy
Because nowadays, I think that Everton fans use it more as a shallow insult than anything with real meaning, and it really irks me. I can't stand it when I'm talking football and that comes up. It has nothing to do with me whatsoever, and I shouldn't have to be put in that uncomfortable situation. I wasn't around to know much about the events following what happened, but I do know that nowadays there's a load of Everton fans who weren't around either who take so much pleasure in a human tragedy just because it's a way of getting one over on Liverpool fans when they've got no proper footballing retort. I've always had an issue with that, and it just annoys me when Evertonians play holier-than-thou because a lot of them should have a guilty conscience about being so stupid as to use something like that.

True, neither were you around when they last won the title but I'm sure you like to bathe in historical success. You can also bathe in everything else they did...........
Glad to see the rumours of the spitting on the Hillsborough memorial isn't true. Yet again though someone has invented that, how low would you have to be?
