I dont mind being called a pom,a brit or even a fat bast?? But I was once called a kopite in Amsterdam now that was below the belt![]()
Idont know about that Kel,but one of my aunts told me my mates were too scouse??? when i was a kidmy grandad objected to being called a scouser, was it at one time a bit like being called a scal or a lid ?
It is like a Kiwi calling an Englishman a Pom. It isn't offensive in the slightest (although it originated from the civil war, the southerners called the northerners Yankee's, or something......)
Thanks for that, I was never sure how The Yanks viewed the word Yank. For me, I never use it in a bad way, but ive known it to be considered offensive.
Clearly if you add another word on the end, such as **** or **** or even ********** or maybe ********.
(I wish to point out that there are no swear words in this thread, I only put *****)
For one, 'American' isn't a race, it's a nationality. So why would 'Yank' come across as racist?
Just to get my bearings straight here. You Brits (hope you're not offended by that) had a short war with Argentina not so long ago, so do they get offended when you call them 'Argies'?
Must be a slow news day in Liverpool, media always has to have some sort of issue...
