I was on the understanding that he has a soft tissue injury and he will likely miss one or two games because of this. Then obviously as you say match fitness is also something that needs to be addressed after that.

Martinez said on the 21st (when the everton tv interview was out) that he had a soft tissue injury, but he also said that the injury was nearly healed up and would only take a few days to be 100%.

I just think he's lacking fitness and training to be honest.

He also mentioned (briefly) a period when he would not be "allowed" to play, in the interview when he confirmed the deal. Could be that we didn't wants to pay his wages for those weeks and so they've agreed when the deal effectively starts.
 
If he's not injured I would imagine he'd be on the bench ASAP. Maybe Martinez means he'll not be in top shape till the last 10 games.

Anyway I'm sure his job this season is impact sub and backup/compitition for lukaku who will still be starting 90% off the time.

I think thats because he didn't have his work permit / visa at the time to be honest
 
I'm looking forward to when he is being brought on as a sub, bobby standing next to him. Shouting instructions up to him cos there is 2 foot difference in height. In the old days he could have borrowed a crate from the paddock!!
 

Can we get this straight.

The last 10 games thing was about him being a first choice to start thing. To play 90 minutes.

He will be available before then from the bench. Easily.
