Redecorating the house and have stumbled upon the top of the cookers extractor fan and at the top it's absolutely riddled with thick greese.

I've tried various techniques to remove it such as cream cleaners, bicarbonate soda etc but none of them are hardcore enough to remove it without literally hours of relentless scrubbing which i can't be arsed with.

Anyone here know of a brand of 'greese cleaner' that is industrial strength and will rip through anything ? Or any other tips...

Apologies for probably the single dullest thread in this forums history, perhaps some posters can liven things up and start a pointless argument over which cleaning substance/method is better or how only tories clean extractor fans or something.

Probably quick and easier ( maybe not cheaper though) and less toxic fumes to pull it out and put a new one in.

Oh and clean it more often

Have you tried leaving bicarb of soda on it for a while, then adding white vinegar. Proper shifts stuff. Might need a few rounds, but it works.

Soda crystals mixed in with water is cat hot on grease.

Oh, and stop being such a bad scruff and clean mote frequently / change the charcoal filters in your cooker hood (or get one).

Xxx

I really panicked then, I thought my missus had joined up.

It's called DIM in our house, Do It Myself. She once asked me to paint the door frame while I was at work. I said ok, get home and she's done it herself. Then she had the cheek to have a cob on about it all night.
