At last a Netflix film that doesn’t feel like something is lacking - the Siege of Jadotsville.

True story of an Irish Army regiment sent as part of a UN peace keeping force to protect a compound in the Congo, during the civil war in the 60’s - subsequently came under siege by around 3000 mercenaries / rebel’s.

It starts off a bit cliched, when they’re in Ireland, but once they arrive in the Congo it becomes a very good film.
Mainly a cast of unknowns, but very well acted, with great battle scenes.

Shocking the way they were hung out to dry as cowards afterwards.

Really enjoyed this! Sadly its aged well in terms of some soldiers still being hung out to dry /insulted for serving their countryn

How does it compare to The Big Short?

Having never seen The Big Short, I dunno.

The interesting thing about Margin Call is that the corporate body has to respond to a crisis they didn't, at least intend, to create. It allows for interesting characters and it is not always straight forward who the bad guys are.

I will look out for the Big Short though, so thanks for the suggestion...

Quite a nifty little sci-fi on Film4 last night - Prospect.

Set hundreds of years in the future. A father and daughter land on a toxic alien planet to search for precious gems and things go wrong.

Watches like a sci-fi Western, well acted, glorious setting, but slow and thoughtful, so won’t be for everyone.

The young girl in it - Sophie Thatcher is deffo one for the future.

Going to give this a shot tonight mate, cheers

You’ll like this one then - Avangement,

Full on Cockney rampage blood bath.

A fella escapes from jail to wreak vengeance on the gangsters who stitched him up.

Not sure it was supposed to be a good laugh, but it is.

Super comedy violence through out.
