In the end you like what you like, we are all different and that is what makes the world tick but it has some extremely large plot holes and where The Empire Strikes Back usually makes it high on the best films ever, TLJ will not.

I quite like TLJ, but it’s far from a perfect movie. TESB is the best of the entire canon for me, but honestly, I think more of the Star Wars films are duds than not. I’ll show my working to annoy lots of people.

I can get on board with that. The apologetic fan service in Rise Of Skywalker was a travesty and undid a lot of TLJ's good work but even that is a fairly entertaining big old space adventure if you don't take Star Wars at all seriously.

Personally I reckon Rogue One is better film than any of them...including the originals but then I'm not invested in them.

I agree - watched it again recently and was surprised by how much it still held up. Bit of a who's who of Scottish actors in there. It wasn't until many years after I left Scotland that I discovered that there was a version of this in which the actors had redubbed themselves in order to make it easier for non-Scots audiences.

Rogue One was really good.

Felicity Jones is FAR superior to Daisy Ridley who I just find unbelievably fake/bland.

Btw Felicity Jones is 38 years old...shocked.
 

Moneyball starring Brad Pitt as Billy Beane general manager Oakland A's baseball team who signed several cut-price has-beens based on their onbase percentages if that makes sense. They went on a record breaking run of victories. I'm always hopeful that Raffa will pull off something similar with us.

Like many sports films it doesnt really come off although it's cleverly cut with genuine action footage. In the end it amounts to lots of shots of hunky Brad looking soulful and anguished and the thing peters out rather.
