Last Film You Watched

The final act as a whole was amazing. Reminded me of Dusk Till Dawn in terms of how the movie totally shifted into chaos.

The actual final scene I felt was madly rushed and ambiguous. More understandable had there been a sequel planned but not seen/heard anything.

For such a quality film, it had such a limited release in the UK too. So I guess that rules out a sequel.

The nearest cinema to me ( south Liverpool) that showed it, was in Ellesmere Port !

Just seen MEN, bit weird, very weird, I loved the thriller suspense aspect but not so much the horror part, also had a images that I found too disturbing, which was a shame.
What idid have was a long 17 minute sequence with no dialect in it, that was good as its a long time to have without anything being said, that was really good.
Worth seeing though, lots of weirdness in it
Saw this last night - it's very decent, and certainly had me hooked, and I wanted to see where it was all leading to (even if it seemed the filmmakers seemed a bit unsure of which way to take it). Jessie Buckley's very good in it, as is Rory Kinnear in his multiple roles. Definitely had a League of Gentlemen "are you local?"-type vibe to it at times. The films Alex Garland's directed are all interesting - I liked this one way more than Annihilation, but thought it wasn't nearly as good as Ex Machina.

Excalibur (1981)

Watched this for the first time in many years and it's just as fantastic as I remember. Brilliant dreamlike visuals, epic classical soundtrack, loads of familiar Brit and Irish actors, loads of gruesome battles, hippy mysticism, a completely bonkers Welsh Merlin and Helen Mirren at her smoking hot peak as randy evil sorceress Morgana....

Just stunning and the best filmic interpretation of Arthurian legend put to film.

It's boss the way the titular legendary blade is lit in a weird Kryptonite green as well.

One of my all time favourites along with Gumball Rally. The Mrs is certainly not a fan of my movie taste.

Gumball Rally ..... I remember seeing that on telly as a kid in the early 80s. There was a driver who raced his car on only 2 wheels.... before the Cannonball Run with Burt and Roger Moore and Jackie Chan I believe. Loved those movies as a kid, especially DUN-DUN- DUUUUUNNN! CAPTAIN CHAOS!

Watched X. Really enjoyed it. Not for everyone as pretty gory, but quite a bit of dark comedy in there as well.

Heard lots of comment about it being a retread of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and it’s certainly got that 70s aesthetic, but it reminded me a lot more of Psycho in terms of structure, lots of similar shots, and a character even talks about that movie.

28 Days Later (on Disney Plus, believe it or not)

Ten minutes in I thought it would be a painful experience due to shaky cam, but it really improved massively as soon as Cillian Murphy's story began. Looking forward to watch the second film in the series. 7/10
