Now now, I think we can safely say that the two Predators (monsters) in question were very different.

If you take into account that their species is always finding ways to evolve, improve their skills, become a better predator, then you're talking about 280 years of evolving!
To me, the Predator in Prey is on his first hunting mission, hence going after like snakes etc. first.
Predator in Predator is very experienced.
Nothing confirmed of course; all conjecture.

Then when you get to Predator in 'The Predator' (@ste d' indica's favorite one in the franchise ?), he's ridiculous!
He's evolved to the point of being impenetrable! They've learned from their past mistakes.

Also, it had taken a bit of a hiding by the time she had a crack at it. Still need a fair amount of suspension of disbelief mind, but good cinema gives you room for that.

That movie came out when I was in high school... The impressionable years.
I so badly wanted to be 'The Dude'!
Looking back; yeah... Not really a good role model to emulate.

Tbf, she didn't beat it alone. The thing was in bits by the time she eventually did fight it and it still basically kicked her arse
