The Bruce Lee bit peed me right off. No one does that to Bruce.
Just seen 'Psycho', 'Silent Running', "12 Monkeys", possibly "Silence of the lambs"/"Texas chainsaw massacre" and as near as damned it "Layercake". So he's incorporating certain shots from much more modern movies as well as the occasional homage from those days of yore when he was studying all the back catalogue from the video store he worked in and clearly loves to this moment.

the director of Operazioni Dyn-o-mite is a nod to Inglorious Basterds

Well, theres a treat and then some this evening...

9pm
ITV4 Ronin (its ok)
34 'great movies' channel, American Gangster (a cut above, really good tho not gritty enough for me)
Film4 Ad Astra (not seen it but a bit meh i believe)

Then after each respective,
itv4 11:25, Get Carter (1971) belting!
Film4 11:15pm, No escape (2015)

But tonights treat is a Mel Brooks special, bbc4, 8pm documentary, followed by the producers, followed by blazing saddles. All wrapped up at 12:10am.
Totally worth it!

I really enjoyed Ad Astra, it’s a real thinking sci-fi.

My only complaint, would be, that Tommy Lee Jones part is too short and a waste of his talent ( although he’s very good as always )

Every now and then a film comes along that just reminds you of all that's possible with the medium. Usually the left fielders are non-US so it was great to see something so way out come from at least near Hollywood.
Bold, disorientating, funny, poignant and two hours of sheer cinematic joy.

Absolutely brilliant.

On Prime.
I just realized a few days ago, the actor who plays her husband is the same kid actor from Indiana Jones and the temple of doom and The Goonies!!!!!!
