All Quiet on the Western Front
An effective, but somewhat tonally uneven retelling of events in the trenches during WW1
Felt a little like a more brutal, but less impactful 'Come and See'
Oh I definitely agree - Just felt like some of the shots in this were almost directly lifted from that filmCome and See is so traumatising, I think the main difference between the two is one is army v army while the other is soldiers v civilians, a whole different level of grim.
I wanna see this version, I actually re watched the 70s version recently, which is also worthy of a watch.

I thought that 3 toned theme was quite haunting.Oh I definitely agree - Just felt like some of the shots in this were almost directly lifted from that film
Rather odd choice to use some heavily electronic elements in the soundtrack as well

Not seen that for years.Watching a film now on ITV4 called Acess High. It's about WW1 Flying aces in France. I don't know how I've never seen it before. It is brilliant. Stars Malcolm McDowell, Simon Ward, Peter Firth and Christopher Plummer. Made in 1976
