I can`t really see Jack O`Connell doing romance lol

He`s without doubt, one of our finest young actors and even more so, when you look at his " non theatre " background and his proper working class roots.

It`s only by chance that he got into acting too, as he would`ve gone in the army, but his juvenile criminal record stopped him !
I think Skins, apart from being a brilliant series, gave a leg up to many fine young actors. As well as o'Connell there were the likes of Nicholas Hoult, Joe Dempsie, Hannah Murray, Kaya Scodelario and John Bishop.

There might be one of my telly but my fridge never made it to that fantastic thread.

Back on track : Encanto in the cinema with my niece and nephew. Their parents needed time to do some shopping. Strangely good.
Yeah. I like to get to the cinema when I visit Falmouth, but there's been nothing that's caught my eye for a while. The last film I saw was FIsherman's Friend 2, but if you don't love Cornwall or sea shanties, it's probably not for you. Think the new Avatar film is out this month so I'll go and see that after Xmas when the kids have gone back to school.;)

The first Skins generation cast has had an pretty amazing hit rate given they were all basically unknowns apart from Hoult. To add to the ones you mentioned there is also Dev Patel and actual Oscar winner, Daniel Kaluuya.

Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943)

This movie is so damn atmospheric and Lon Chaney Jr. is superb as always. The set designs in these Universal movies are superb. Very enjoyable. 8/10

Did a superhero double yesterday, Black Adam and Wakanda Forever.

I thought Black Adam was awful. Didn't really warm to any of the characters, especially not bootleg Ant-Man and to a lesser degree bootleg Storm. Black Adam himself is just way too powerful and also really boring. Quite liked Pierce Brosnan and the mum was ok too. The film was just so dull and generic. Really hope James Gunn can sort DC out.

Was much more impressed with Wakanda Forever. Was worried it would be a bit rubbish given Chadwick Boseman's death and them having to deal with that in a respectful manner which also makes sense. Thought they handled it really well though. The supporting cast did a good job as they did in the first one and I liked Namor too. It wasn't anything mind blowing but was good fun.

The Wonder

loved it, great soundtrack too. Florence Pugh is incredible, again.

Netflix films are getting better, finally.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931)

Some good makeup/transformations and effects for it's time. Visually atmospheric as usual in this era of cinema. Obviously the acting/dialogue is very over the top, but that's to be expected. A fun watch I'd say. 7/10
