Last Film You Watched

Watched ~half of Rebel Moon last night. God it starts off bad. Gets better after that, at least some interesting scenes if not great, but I was so close to turning it off before I got to those parts, which I basically never do. Will watch the rest tonight prob. It can't be a great sign that Charlie Hunnam is probably the best thing in it. Although I did enjoy that guy who got out of his slave contract by taming that wild horse/dragon thing. Reminds me of Matthew McConaughey.

Miller's Girl - an absolute disasterclass in movie making.

Overly pretentious dialogue, characters who are not only unlikeable but are also bereft of any humour, charm or wit. You know how Love Actually has all these hot girls falling in love with middle aged men storylines, well, this movie has an irritating kid falling in love with that Hobbit from the Office.

And then.... nothing happens for an hour or so. The end.
Was told he bent her over and potted the black. Is that not true?

Showing "Trainspotting" to me GF tomorrow... I've seen it many times...including on the original cinema release in 1996 but she's never seen it before... strangely excited to show her a hugely influential and iconic flick from my "wasted yoof".

My eldest lad, who`s a teenager had never watched it and we watched it together over Christmas.

It instantly became his favourite film and all his mates have watched it now.

He also fell in love with some of the tracks from the soundtrack, which is what I was secretly hoping for, as it would broaden his musical horizons, from all the grime he usually listens too.

Brilliant time capsule of the mid-90's - it hits so many key notes. As you say, lethal soundtrack and inventive visuals that made the film look so much more flashy and exciting. As it came on top of the resurgence in British music and fashion culture - it was absolutely the right thing at the right time.
