Last Film You Watched

Love Gosling to be fair. It's the reason I finished the movie.

Not enough Blunt for me tho

Talking out of school here, but interesting you say that as there was even less Blunt in the original drafts of the screenplay. I figure when she got cast it got rewritten so she was in it more.

IF - Not the film I was expecting. UP vibes for the first part, then sort of slows right down in the middle and almost doesn't know what to do, before a big emotional shift for the end. If they improved on the middle it could have been a really good film. Still worth watching, but it's not the full of laughs action animation the trailer (and cast) suggests.

I was totally confused then thinking about the Malcolm McDowell If.... from the 60s.

Watched this last night on recommendation.

Monkey Man.

Dev Patel of Slum Dog Millionaire fame, directing debut and he plays the lead too.

It’s an outstanding film and comparisons to John Wick are way way off the mark.

Dev Patel plays a lowly bare knuckle fighter, seeking revenge on those who wiped out his family and village.

It’s the rarity with revenge films, in that it’s brilliantly written and acted.

The fight scenes form a small part of the film, rather than most of it and you really identify with Patel and his quest for revenge.

Patel must’ve trained himself to death for the part too, as he looks every bit the part of a street fighter.

The camera work and settings are spot on too. Portraying the vast gulf between the rich and the poor in India.

Don’t be put off that nearly all the cast are Indian, as not one single person is miscast in this and every single person in this film can act.

One of the best revenge films ever done and this should be the launch pad for Patel to become a proper A lister.

A must watch.
What a great fillum that was

Thanks for the tip
