Been thinking about giving this a watch again during the lead up to the US election:

Imagine a president doing something scandalous and then employing the help of a spin doctor and Hollywood director to dream up a fake war to help draw attention away from it?

Can you see Trump attempting something as convoluted and cunning as this? No? He'd have to dream up one every other week!

Trumps master plan goes something more like:

You've been found undeniably guilty on all 34 charges of fraud.

No, I'm innocent.

But the evidence is irrefutable. You're guilty.

I'm innocent. It's fake news! Biden and the deep state are behind it! Blah blah blah!

....

And so forth until everyone just gets bored his wham that they give up and move on.

Was genuinely excited to see this - hoping for a modern Silence of the Lambs

Ultimately disappointing, short on scares, high on 1 particularly OTT performance which derails the whole film - Ultimately ending up in a generically bland modern horror ending.
