It`s fantastic mate and genuinely unsettling.

Sam Neil is fantastic.

My only complaint, is that they left it at that and never did a sequel, as it was set up perfectly for a follow on.

It is really not fantastic.

Sam Neil is not fantastic, he phones in a T-bone sized ham that should have meant he had to retire.

My complaint is it doesn't make any sense, and the ending is a hasty tacked on joke, the studio hated it, the only fun part in it is the blood soaked hell orgy and that got 99% cut because it was a bit much. Somehow the original film reels ended up stored in an abandoned mine in Transylvania or something which flooded or burst into flames so can't be retrieved.

As mentioned before, it has a couple of bits that are ok, the set designs borrow heavily from Doom/Quake computer games, so that 90's space marines fps theme is there. And there is some groundwork done visually that ends up in parts incorporated into the matrix a couple of years later.

To get my own back against nic coppola, I wouldn't make him watch his films on a loop, I'd have EH on...
